Bio: Nancy Frishberg has had 3 careers so far. As a linguist specializing in sign languages, she was a pioneer. After 15 years in academia, she moved into industry and non-profits, working for IBM, Apple, consulting firms, and non-profits eventually finding User Experience (UX) a great fit. More recently, she's become a rancher, producer and purveyor of extra virgin olive oil. Frishberg created the Linguistics in Practice award, given annually by the LSA, beginning in 2025. A founder of the LinguisticsCareerLaunch.com, she enjoys showing new audiences LCL’s free Library of interviews with linguists in industry, non-profits, law, and government.
