Bio: Dr. Elissa Bullion is the State Physical Anthropologist for Oregon at the Legislative Commission on Indian Services. In this role she focuses on the identification, protection, and repatriation of Ancestors and belongings to descendent communities from state and private lands, particularly working with Tribal nations and communities. Her background is in bioarchaeology, specifically human osteology and mortuary studies. Her graduate work at Washington U. in St. Louis focused on burial practices, social identity, and religious practice in Bronze Age and medieval Central Asia. Dr. Bullion has worked in the Pacific Northwest for private CRM firms as well as the USFS and NRCS for over a decade.
